RE: PENSION AND DILEMMA OF RETIREES
email Reactions to the author
as published below Are IN THEIR ORIGINAL
FORMS
Dear
Yashuaib
We can
only pray and hope this will be the last and ultimate option for the better
welfare of pensioners. Nobody in his right sense would wish to be a civil
servant in Nigeria with the peanut salaries and ridiculous condition of service
and failure to pay their due after retirement. I believe with the way the new
body PENCOM is going there is hope for our fathers, grandfather who worked in
government and future retirees desirous of working for government as public
servants. It is also interesting to learn that private sector, especially
multinational companies are also patronizing the service offered by PENCOM. it
is quit promising. But don't ask me if I may join the service in Nigeria. For
now No way! Until after some years.

What
about the thieves (managers of funds) that pay these funds meant for the
retirees into their personal bank accounts to generate millions of Naira in
interest while the real owners -the intended recipients (retirees) wait for
months before they get their money credited to their account....( sometimes it
requires 3-6 months for funds that has already been released by the government
to reach these retirees-the real owners) I think NH Ribadu needs to look into
this as a matter of urgency) I know it happens because I know someone that is a
victim of this fraud called 419). - It happens everyday in Nigeria and even more
so now since the ghost workers syndrome is now in check due to the
computerization and the annual physical identification process of the retirees.
The managers of this retirement program in connivance with some politicians have
resorted to depriving these retirees of their earnest entitlements at the right
time while the thieves reap the interest on the payments. Nothing is promising
here until you completely remove the crooks who are nothing but COGS in the
wheel of progress in Nigeria. Surely and slowly they shall be revealed and
eliminated from the line so that they may stop inflicting pain and suffering to
the families of those who served their fatherland honorably. First it was ghost
workers and now it is deprivation of the true owners of their entitlements while
the crooks illegally enrich themselves through the backdoor interest collection.
Stop these bastards before they get caught in their own tsunami.
